Alkimia residents enjoy residing in ocean-front cabins embraced by native bush. They have shared facilities (kitchens/toilets), and can use the common house to connect with the community or offer/attend classes.
Residents are not required to be contribute towards the goals & projects in Alkimia (except teaching), but they can still choose to be involved in whatever inspires them (e.g. gardens, creating a sauna, or whatever else).
For now we have 1-2 person cabins for rent, and in the future we will have the possibility to buy/build houses for families (or bring in tiny houses).
Accommodation for teachers who are at a stage of their life where they have been embodying and/or sharing their sacred knowledge/dharma/spiritual traditions with the world for a while (whatever they may be, e.g. Buddhism, Shamanism, Yoga, Māori traditions, Gnosticism, Taoism, Sufism, or whatever else), and now want to take it to the next level and be immersed in an environment where others have the same focus, so that everyone is sharing and learning in the community.
Includes electricity, water, gas, internet, cleaning, garbage disposal, water/waste disposal, house expenses (banking, accounting, firewood, consumables), weekly classes, beautiful events, opportunity to teach/practice, ocean views, nature immersion, shared veggies/fruits from the garden/trees, possibility to create personal garden space, and lots of love.
Cabins are unfurnished, so that residents can design them just as they like.
Teachers have the discounted value of $200/week rent, otherwise the regular price is $275/week.
These are prices for 1 person. For an extra person in the cabin (regardless of their age (0-100), if that person is not a teacher, there is an extra cost of $75/week. Talk to us if this feels impossible to you, and you resonate with all other elements.
As a volunteer in Alkimia you have the opportunity to work on tasks that meet your values and projects that inspire you and that contribute towards a higher purpose. This could be anything from renovations, cleaning, arts & crafts, outdoor projects, sustainability, etc. Check out our photos below!
Volunteers are offered free shared accommodation, as well as everything described above for residents.
We don’t have a specific amount of hours that people work, people’s contribution depends on their energy levels and what they believe is fair.
